Product Description

Counting our pennies has become a way of life for most of us over the past few years. With copper prices near all time highs, cashing in your scrap copper can put some much needed cash in your pocket. Approximately 65% of copper produced is used for electrical applications, including cable and wire. When the insulation is stripped, you are left with scrap copper solids. Scrap copper solids are the most sought-after scrap metal in the recycling industry. Because of its conductive properties, copper is often insulated for safety's sake. While the copper has value, the insulation does not. Insulation detracts from the copper's value, which is an important consideration when trying to maximize your return. At the time this was written, insulated scrap copper price was 0.97 per lb while the same wire without the insulation was 2.60 per lb. The HARDIN WS-1270 will easily remove the insulation from most cables and wire allowing you to get premium scrap prices. Independently adjustable blade and rollers allows the HARDIN WS-1270 to accommodate wires ranging from 24 AWG to 7/8" and in any shape including Romex, square, parallel and triangle insulation. Mounting the WS-1270 can be done by clamping the unit to the corner of any workbench or by bolting the stripper directly to the top surface. All the necessary hardware needed to mount the HARDIN WS-1270 in either configuration is included. Operating the HARDIN WS-1270 is as simple as the design. To begin stripping your cable or wire, insert the beginning of the cable into the stripper and through the guide rollers. Adjust the guide rollers to secure and center the cable, adjust the blade to penetrate the outer jacket. After securing the blade, pull the cable or wire through the stripper until the insulation has be been completely stripped. 2 high speed steel replaceable blades are included and can be re-sharpened.
