The spring ends are closed and ground flat (squared) for efficient transfer of force, and a reduced risk of tangling. This spring has a load capacity of 2.12 pounds and a maximum operating temperature of 570 degrees F (300 degrees C). It has a slightly magnetic plain wire finish for excellent resistance to corrosion and oxidation that is passivated per ASTM A967.

Compression springs are open-coil helical springs that are used to save space and absorb shock in a variety of applications. They absorb the energy of a force acting upon them by becoming shorter, store that energy while compacted, and expand as they release the energy. These springs are either placed over a rod, or fitted inside a hole, and are found in a wide variety of applications ranging from automotive engines and large stamping presses to major appliances and lawn mowers, medical devices, cell phones, electronics, and sensitive instrumentation devices.
