Retention balls and drive keys provide higher positioning accuracy and stronger gripping force, reducing possibility of tap slippage. Will compensate for the machine spindle over rotating, tap elongation or minor mismatching between rotation and feed. Spring tension (downward pressure) will help lead and engage the tap for consistent and on size tapped holes. Tension Compression holders assure accuracy and control to make sure the hole is tapped exactly on the pitch of the tap. This is extremely beneficial when tapping critical hole threads with 2B and 3B dimensional call outs.
