Product Description

This Apollo 4A104T2F double check valve assembly with ball valve and SAE threaded test cocks is made of bronze for higher strength and corrosion resistance than brass, and has stainless steel handles. It has a low pressure loss, double check assembly (DCA) for backflow prevention due to back siphoning or back pressure. These independently acting check valves are designed to maintain a minimum of 1 pound per second (psi) across the valve during normal operation. If downstream pressure increases above the supply pressure, both check valves will close to prevent backflow. The captured spring cartridge check valves are modular with replaceable seats and reversible chloramine-resistant silicone seat discs. These check valves are accessible from the top of the valve assembly for testing and maintenance and come with Society Automatic Engineers (SAE) threaded test cocks to prevent backflow. This inline valve has 3/4" female Society Automatic Engineers (SAE) threads for connecting to male threaded pipe fittings going in the same direction. It is pressure rated to 175 psi at an operating temperature range of 33 to 180 degrees F. This double check assembly ball valve is suitable for use in residential and commercial plumbing applications.

Ball valves use a spherical disc to control the flow between pipes, tubes, or hoses. Flow is allowed when the hole that pierces the ball-shaped disc is in line with the inlet and outlet of the valve and is blocked when the ball is horizontally swiveled 90 degrees, so that the hole of the ball is perpendicular to the opening of the valve. Ball valves can be referred to as full port or reduced port (also known as regular or standard port) depending on the inner diameter or the valve. A ball valve is full port if the hole of the ball is the same size as the inner diameter of the connecting pipeline (resulting in lower friction) and termed reduced port if the hole of the valve is one pipe size smaller than the pipe, resulting in less flow through the valve than through the shaft of the pipe. Ball valves may have a handle or lever that aligns with the ball’s position (open or closed) for manual operation. They are primarily used in air, gas, liquid, and steam applications.

Apollo Valves manufactures ball, mixing, and relief valves, actuators, water gauges, marine fittings, heating and plumbing products, and backflow prevention. The company, founded in 1928 and headquartered in Matthews, NC, meets international standard International Organization for Standardization (ISO)/IEC standard 17025:2005.
