The Parker brass close nipple is a pipe fitting with male National Pipe Taper (NPT) threads on both ends for connecting and extending two pieces of female pipe. The close nipple has male NPT threads on both ends that run the length of the fitting to meet in the middle with an expanse of plain, unthreaded space in between. It has NPT threads for creating tighter seals than straight threads and is made from brass, which is more economical, and offers greater corrosion resistance than steel. This fitting meets standards ANSI B31.1 and B1.20.1 for quality assurance.
