Product Description

The Rubbermaid Commercial Brute rollout recycling container is a rectangular, polyethylene container that has a hinged lid, an integrated handle, and inset wheels and that is imprinted with the universal recycling symbol. Polyethylene weighs less than aluminum or steel and resists cracking. The hinged lid flips open fully and locks against the trash can. A molded-in axle retainer adds strength, and inset wheels make the trash can maneuverable and help prevent damage to walls and doorways. A molded-in catch bar makes the garbage can compatible with automated and semiautomated lift systems for curbside garbage and recycling collection. This recycling bin contains an ultraviolet (UV) stabilizer to help prevent fading and discoloring. The container measures 36.5 x 23.4 x 28.5 inches (H x W x D) and has a capacity of 50 gallons. (H is height, the vertical distance from lowest to highest point; W is width, the horizontal distance from left to right; D is depth, the horizontal distance from front to back.) It meets the Comprehensive Procurement Guidelines of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for post-consumer recycled content and can help earn Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) credits. It is suitable for use with disposable trash can liners (sold separately).

Trash cans are used for the disposal and temporary storage of garbage. They are typically made of plastic or metal and sometimes have a top or lid to contain odors and waste. Certain garbage cans meet Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements for the disposal of medical waste or National Sanitation Foundation/American National Standards Institute (NSF/ANSI) requirements for food handling and processing. Other waste containers include a lock to prevent unauthorized access, safeguard confidential materials, and comply with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) requirements. Waste bins can also be color-coded to facilitate the separation of recyclable waste, such as bottles, cans, paper, and general refuse. Ash/trash can receptacles typically include an ashtray on top for cigarette disposal. Trash cans are used in virtually all commercial and industrial environments.

Rubbermaid manufactures cleaning, organizing, and material handling products for commercial, medical, and industrial applications. The company, founded in 1933, is headquartered in Huntersville, NC.
