Product Description

The Accuform Signs KDD230 StopOut StopPlug multi-plug lockout is a hollow shell that surrounds an electrical plug and combines with a padlock (sold separately) to help protect against plug connection during maintenance and repair, and fits electrical plug sizes up to 2-1/2" x 2-1/2" x 5" with a cord diameter of up to 1" (most 110, 220, 550, or 600 VAC plugs). This lockout is made of red plastic in an octagonal shape for high visibility and stop sign association; the plastic is Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) compliant for environmental and human safety. Its label reads, "Danger - Locked Out - Do Not Remove" with lined areas that can be used to identify persons responsible. The lockout measures 3 x 3 x 6 inches (H x W x D). (H is height, the vertical distance from lowest to highest point; W is width, the horizontal distance from left to right; D is depth, the horizontal distance from front to back.) This device is part of a lockout/tagout (LOTO) safety procedure required at facilities where electricity sources need to be isolated during maintenance and repair.

Lockout/tagout (LOTO) safety procedures require that lockout devices meet Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 1910.147(c)(5) standards for quality assurance. Lockout/tagout (LOTO) devices use color, warning labels or tags, and sometimes a physical barrier to help prevent machine operation or power activation during maintenance and repair.

Accuform Signs manufactures facility safety identification products. The company, founded in 1976, is headquarted in Brooksville, FL.
