Product Description

The Milwaukee Valve ML222B series lug-style butterfly valve with a lever handle is made of cast iron and has Buna-n rubber seats and seals, a nickel-plated ductile-iron disc, and flanged connections. This lug-style valve is secured between two pipe flanges by a separate set of threaded bolts for each flange and is suitable for end-of-line service and removal or replacement of downstream piping. The ductile-iron lever handle rotates the disc in the valve seat to fully open, regulate, or stop flow through the valve. The disc is made of nickel-plated ductile iron for durability and resistance to wear, and the Buna-n seats and seals provide increased resistance to water, oil, and chemicals. The maximum pressure for bidirectional dead-end service is 200 pounds per square inch (psi), and the working temperature range is 10 to 180 degrees F. This valve has flanged connections surrounding the body on both sides for bolting to pipes and for greater ease in installation and maintenance than welded connections. It meets Manufacturers Standardization Society (MSS) SP-67 and American Petroleum Institute (API) 609 standards for quality assurance, and the United States Coast Guard approves it for use in Category A service. This valve is for use in applications including agricultural and turf irrigation, food and beverage industry, pulp and paper industry, oil and gas systems, chemical plants, wastewater treatment, and water distribution.

Butterfly valves are used to regulate flow between pipes, tubes, and hoses by rotating a lens-shaped disc in the center of the valve and are suited for high-capacity, low-pressure applications. When the valve is fully opened, the disc face is parallel to the inlet and outlet of the valve, and when the valve is closed, the disc face is perpendicular to the opening of the valve. Butterfly valves may have a handle or lever that aligns with the disc position (open or closed) for manual flow control. They are primarily used in applications including agriculture, water treatment, fire protection, compressed air or gas, and vacuum service.

The Milwaukee Valve Company manufactures manual and actuated valves, controls, and control accessories. The company, founded in 1901, and headquartered in New Berlin, WI, meets International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001:2008 and 14001:2004 standards.
